Groove Server Manager 2007 sp1 is not compatible with SQL Server 2008

[Update 5/8/09 -- fixed in Office Groove 2007, SP2. See https://support.microsoft.com/kb/968770.]

As you may have noticed, SQL Server 2008 (check out that 180-day trial!) is now available. Don't try to use it for Groove domain data yet, though! The current version of Groove Manager 2007 will not recognize SQL Server 2008 as a valid SQL Server.

I'll let you know when that changes....

Good to know. I suspect that's not a solution we'd consider publishing, though! If you intend to use this while waiting for a product update, please be aware that it is an unsupported and untested configuration.

I hope that this "fix" is feeded back to the development team, so a servicepack or hotfix can be created and released. We have already applied this "fix" to an internal test environment, which runs like a charm.
