Updates to Plan browser support

Hi. This post is to let you know of the changes to the “Plan
browser support” article for SharePoint 2010 Products.

Unless otherwise stated,  the latest version of all modern browsers are
supported. Period.

The browser support matrix table of supported, supported with known limitations,
Not tested, and Not supported has been removed.

The only browser that will clearly state known limitations
is Windows Internet Explorer.

For any third-party browser (including Google Chrome, Firefox,
Apple Safari, etc.) we will support the latest publically released version.

    Somebody, Certainly we’ve had issues with the ribbon and Chrome in the past, but we’ve done work to UI to improve the experience here.  Neither the original posting nor your comment lists either the SharePoint or the Chrome version you are using.     You have a typo at the link for Plan browser support technet.microsoft.com/.../cc263526 The statement "The following operating systems support Goggle Chrome:" has Google spelt incorrectly.

    After reading this, I initially got my hopes up that Microsoft SharePoint 2010 would support browsers running on Linux and Macs. But, after reading the following statement (at technet.microsoft.com/.../cc263526), I found out that only the Windows operating system is fully supported: "Some functionality in SharePoint Server 2010 requires the use of ActiveX controls. This produces limitations on browsers which do not support ActiveX." Anyone who needs to support a heterogeneous mixture of devices will still not find a solution in SharePoint 2010.

    not true! still latest version of chrome is not executing onload= method and thus is not loading javascript files of SharePoint 2010 properly. Microsoft should fix it.

    Your blog post implies that the current version of all browsers were supported for SharePoint 2010 with no limitations.  But your post directs the user wanting more information to a link for SharePoint 2013.  When you get to the page and choose "other versions" and select SharePoint 2010 you get taken to the same old information about Active-X limitations with other browsers.
