Hyper-V Network Connectivity Issues with Emulex Adapters
I retweeted this late last week, but wanted to mention it here on my blog. Emulex has just published a blog post talking about a known issue that is causing network connectivity problems for Hyper-V VMs when using Emulex network adapters. They have also explained how to work around this until they have a final fix ready. You can read about it here:
I am blogging about this for two reasons:
- I have been contacted by a number of customers who have hit this, and want people to know about what to do.
- It is really good to see a hardware vendor documenting status and workarounds for known issues, and I am glad to see this post going up.
Cheers,
Ben

It isn't just Emulex adapters. Broadcom adapters also. We experienced the same connectivity drops with VMQ enabled on Broadcom cards. Once we switched over to Intel cards, problem was resolved.Anonymous

Now if only HP/Broadcom would own up in a similar fashion.......Anonymous

Broadcom already fixed this in their later firmware/drivers. I updated them for two Dell servers and now they're working perfectly with VMQ enabled VMs. Cheers.Anonymous

Still waiting for Microsoft/HP/Emulex to stop pointed fingers or claiming the issue is fixed. It has been a year now. www.hyper-v.nu/.../another-update-on-the-vmq-issue-with-emulex-and-hpAnonymous
