Hello WSUS Admins!

In follow-up to the recent announcements of Microsoft Forefront and Microsoft Forefront Client Security, we have made the following changes that are effective immediately that you will notice in your WSUS synchronization options:

- The System Protection Products family is now called Forefront

- Microsoft Client Protection is now called Forefront Client Security

Customers who are testing the early beta of Microsoft Forefront Client Security (previously called Microsoft Client Protection) will not be affected by this change. We have included some additional information about Microsoft Forefront and Microsoft Forefront Client Security below and you can learn more by visiting https://www.microsoft.com/forefront

and https://www.microsoft.com/clientsecurity. Other questions or concerns should be directed to your Microsoft TAP or private beta point of contact.

Microsoft Forefront Client Security provides unified malware protection for business desktops, laptops and server operating systems that is easier to manage and control. Built on the same highly successful Microsoft protection technology already used by millions of people worldwide, Forefront Client Security helps guard against emerging threats such as spyware and rootkits as well as traditional threats such as viruses, worms and Trojan horses. By delivering simplified administration through central management and providing critical visibility into threats and vulnerabilities, Forefront Client Security helps you protect your business with greater confidence and efficiency. Forefront Client Security integrates with your existing infrastructure software, such as Active Directory, and complements other Microsoft security technologies for better protection and greater control.

Microsoft Forefront Client Security was previously known as Microsoft Client Protection.

    What is the pricing of the Microsoft Forefront Client Security?

    Will there be a bundle with the Microsoft Antigen techology?

    Will there be a MS SBS bundle with the Microsoft Forefront Client Security and/or the Microsoft Antigen techology?

    Will there be a single console for the Microsoft Forefront Client Security and the Microsoft Antigen technology?

    Does the Microsoft Forefront and Microsoft Antigen use the same signature files?
