XNA Game Studio 4.0 Beta is Live!
Happy Monday, Creators!
Today, we've released the Windows Phone Developer Tools Beta! This release includes:
- Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone Beta
- Windows Phone Emulator Beta
- Silverlight for Windows Phone Beta
- XNA Game Studio 4.0 Beta
The beta does not support development for the Xbox 360. Rest assured, beloved Xbox LIVE Indie Game Creators, that the final release will offer you plenty of good stuff. You can learn lots more by reading on and visiting our Windows Phone Developer Beta Launch Center!
The beta release requires 3 GB of free disk space on your system drive and at least 2 GB of RAM. XNA Game Studio 4.0 beta deployment to Windows Phone Emulator requires a DirectX 10 or later graphics card with WDDM 1.1 driver.
If you’ve installed a previous version of Windows Phone Developer Tools (such as the Community Technical Preview and refresh released back in April), you must uninstall it before installing the new version.
You can install this beta even if you do not have Visual Studio, but it is ONLY compatible with the English version of Visual Studio 2010 RTM.
