SCCM 2012 Troubleshooting: WSUS Sync failed - The operation has timed out

WSUS Error in SCCM when trying to Synchronize Windows Updates:

Troubleshooting

Check the WSUS service and see if it is stopped. Try starting the service and the following errors comes up:

  • Windows could not start the WSUS Service on Local Computer. Error 193: 0xc1

Solution:

  1. Check the C:\ drive to see if you have a folder called Program. Rename the folder.
  2. After renaming the folder, try to start the WSUS service.
