Troubleshooting SharePoint using SETH

SETH is important troubleshooting tool for SharePoint it is part of the diagnostics packages available from Microsoft

To download go the following link and select the SETH and download it

Note: there is option where you can make it portable so you can use it later instead of downloading it from the above link each time you want to run it.

 

Steps to use it:

  • Double click on the tool and Accept

  • Press Start

  • You can then select either "Run Complete Analysis" or  "Only Gather Information"

  • I will select the first option but it will take longer time.

  • When it is done it will generate data  press next

  • Save results and close

You then can go to the location where you saved the results you will find .cab file inside this you can see all generated data to help you see issues in your environment.

  1. Note: you can choose to send or don't sent results to Microsoft (if you have a case)
