Workaround - InfoPath - The lookup field is not valid

Problem
An InfoPath form is published to SharePoint Online.

When the form is opened with InfoPath 2013, a field that is bound to a drop-down list, in the Field or Group Properties dialog box, displays "The lookup field is not valid because the reference list or list column does not exist.  Delete the field and recreate it."

Let's assume that when opening the form in the web site, the lookup works and shows the values.

Using a tool like Metalogix Content Matrix, copy the list to a development site.  On the development site, When the form is opened with InfoPath, the same message displays, but when opening the form in the web site, the lookup does not work and does not show the values.

Solution
In InfoPath, delete the field from the form.  Add the field back to the form and publish.

Notes
*  After implementing the solution, the Field or Group Properties dialog box continues to display the message, but the lookup works.
