Error in manifest or policy file ""C:\Program

Files\Tivoli\TSM\baclient\jvm60\jre\bin\unpack.dll"" on line 19.

The value ""6.0.0.6u9b41"" of attribute ""version"" in element

""assemblyIdentity"" is invalid."

Cause

There is an error in the manifest or policy file related to this application.   This can be caused by not having the appropriate  Microsoft Visual C++  Redistributable Package installed for this application to function properly. Side-by-side is a concept introduced with the Microsoft .N Framework. It allows the ability to run multiple versions of an application (or component) on the same computer. With side-by-side execution, subsequent installations of other versions of the runtime, an application, or a component will not affect applications already installed.

Prior to Microsoft Windows XP and the .NET Framework, DLL conflicts occurred because applications were unable to distinguish between incompatible versions of the same code. An application had no way of knowing if a DLL was the same that the application was compatible with. As a result, a new version of a component could overwrite an older version and break applications.

User Action

  • Check with the software vendor to determine if an update has been released which solves this issue
  • Determine the appropriate Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package your application requires
  • Download the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package from http://www.microsoft.com/ .
