Deployment Guide for Copilot for Finance (preview)

This article explains how to deploy Microsoft Copilot for Finance, an Add-in for Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel. Either a business user or a tenant administrator can install Copilot for Finance.

When installed by the tenant administrator, the public preview license entitles the tenant to use of Copilot for Finance. This license includes sufficient Dataverse capacity to support the public preview use.

Prerequisites

Versions & Licenses

  • Microsoft 365
    • Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 license
    • For Desktop use: Microsoft Office 2016 or later
    • For Online use:
      • Microsoft 365 online
      • Compatible Browsers: Chromium-based browser version 120 or later
  • Optional Connected ERP Requirements for integration with Copilot for Finance Collections in Outlook
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance: version 10.0.38 (build 10.0.1777.80 or later)
    • Dynamics 365 Business Central Online, latest update (24.3)

User Requirements

Infrastructure & Environment

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance integration (for use with Copilot for Finance – Collections in Outlook) requires:
    • A Tier 2+ Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment
    • A Power Platform enabled environment. For more information, see Enable Power Platform Integration.
    • Users accessing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance are required to be in the same tenant as the selected environment

Deploy Copilot for Finance

To deploy Copilot for Finance, follow these steps.

  1. Install and deploy Copilot for Finance. For more information, see Install Copilot for Finance (business user-deployed) or Install Copilot for Finance (admin-deployed).
  2. Install Copilot for Finance on a Dataverse environment. For more information, Install Copilot for Finance on a Dataverse environment.
