Increments the counter value by the specified amount.

The amount by which to increment the counter value. The increment value can be positive or negative.

Remarks
This method safely increments the counter value for multi-threaded applications.
To set the counter value, use the Value property.
To increment the counter value by 1, call the Increment method.
