How to purchase Microsoft eCDN
You can purchase Microsoft eCDN licenses for your tenant via three channels.
Volume Licensing
Contact your Microsoft Technical Specialist, Account Executive, or Customer Success Account Manager.
M365 Admin Center
Navigate to Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Billing / Marketplace > Purchase services > search "ecdn" > eCDN (Enterprise Content Delivery Network) appears > select details > enter required fields and place the order.
You're prompted to select a license quantity. For optimal experience, license all users in the tenant.
Microsoft Cloud Solutions Providers (CSP)
If you're procuring via a Microsoft CSP, contact the CSP directly.

How much does Microsoft eCDN cost?
Microsoft eCDN costs $0.50 per user per month with an annual subscription.
How many licenses should I purchase?
Customers are expected to purchase a number of licenses that cover the total number of unique users whom they intend to benefit from the product. For most customers, this number is typically equal to the entire tenant's user base. See below for example license scenarios.
Microsoft reserves the right to monitor and enforce high usage limits at any time. While the product is enabled tenant-wide and automatic limitations based on over-usage aren't enabled, usage is periodically audited and over-usage is flagged. Microsoft reserves the right to throttle or disable eCDN performance without notice for repeat overuse.
Do licenses have to be assigned to users?
Once enabled, Microsoft eCDN works out of the box without the need to assign licenses to individual users.
Note
While assigning licenses is not required, customers must ensure that they have purchased an adequate number of licenses to accommodate their intended usage.
What if I have Teams Premium licenses?
With every Teams Premium license, you get one entitlement to the Microsoft eCDN service. As such, each Teams Premium license offsets the total number of necessary Microsoft eCDN licenses.
For example, if you need 20 Microsoft eCDN licenses to cover your intended usage and already have 5 Teams Premium licenses, you only need to purchase 15 supplemental Microsoft eCDN licenses.

* Working from home permanently means the employee has a remote-only position and never goes to the office.
** A benefiting user is a user that participates in an eCDN enabled event at least once a year. If a user predominantly works from home and occasionally goes to the office and attends live events, this user counts as a benefiting user.
*** Licenses can be Teams Premium licenses, standalone Microsoft eCDN licenses, or a combination of both.
**** Microsoft eCDN needs to be disabled for EMEA & APAC via subnet mapping.
