Trials and test drives

This article provides an overview of the solutions listing types, including trials and test drives, available in the commercial marketplace. You can try and buy from the most comprehensive catalog of certified cloud solutions.

You can act on a listing by selecting Free trial or Test drive, or by using other solution listing types like Get it now, or Contact me. Read on for more details.

Free trial

Use the commercial marketplace to experience a trial, at no cost, anywhere from 30 days to six months, depending on the solution and conditions of the trial. For virtual machine offers, you might be charged Azure infrastructure costs during the trial period. During the free trial, you can access the solution for a limited time. This is useful when you want to evaluate a solution's capabilities within your exact business scenarios.

Test drive

Note

Test Drive has already been deprecated. This means the feature is no longer supported and may not be available.

A test drive allows you to explore a curated demo of the solution and doesn't require any configuration. A test drive lets you determine if the solution meets your business needs without using your production data or environment. Through a test drive, you can try the solution in a preconfigured environment that demonstrates the application's key features and benefits.

Test drives run in the provider’s cloud environment, so you don't need to download, set up, or configure the product. You can continue to access and test the app for several hours, without the need to set up or use your own Azure or Dynamics 365 subscription. To learn more about test drives in Microsoft AppSource, see AppSource test drives.
