InPlaceDirection Enumeration
Specifies the preferred direction of the in-place Input Panel relative to the text entry field.
Namespace: Microsoft.Ink.TextInput
Assembly: Microsoft.Ink (in Microsoft.Ink.dll)
Syntax
'Declaration
Public Enumeration InPlaceDirection
'Usage
Dim instance As InPlaceDirection
public enum InPlaceDirection
public enum class InPlaceDirection
public enum InPlaceDirection
Members
Member name | Description | |
---|---|---|
Auto | Restore the system default. | |
Bottom | Preferred direction is above the text entry field. | |
Top | Preferred direction is below the text entry field. |
Remarks
An application can specify whether the in-place Input Panel defaults appear above or below a text entry field by setting the PreferredInPlaceDirection to Bottom or Top. PreferredInPlaceDirection is a preference because the in-place Input Panel overrides the preference set by the application when necessary to keep Input Panel on the screen. The system default is to position the in-place Input Panel below a text field when possible; otherwise it is positioned above. Setting the PreferredInPlaceDirection to Auto restores the system default.
Examples
The following example demonstrates the use of Top. The tip object is an instance of TextInputPanel. An editable field where the focus is placed is represented by TextBox control, textBox1.
textBox1.Focus()
tip.PreferredInPlaceDirection = InPlaceDirection.Top
textBox1.Focus();
tip.PreferredInPlaceDirection = InPlaceDirection.Top;
