ProgressBar Styles and Templates
This topic describes the styles and templates for the ProgressBar control. You can modify the default ControlTemplate to give the control a unique appearance. For more information, see Customizing the Appearance of an Existing Control by Creating a ControlTemplate.
ProgressBar Parts
The following table lists the named parts for the ProgressBar control.
Part |
Type |
Description |
PART_Indicator |
The object that indicates progress. |
|
PART_Track |
The object that defines the path of the progress indicator. |
|
PART_GlowRect |
An object that embellishes the progress bar. |
ProgressBar States
The following table lists the visual states for the ProgressBar control.
VisualState Name |
VisualStateGroup Name |
Description |
---|---|---|
Determinate |
CommonStates |
ProgressBar reports progress based on the Value property. |
Indeterminate |
CommonStates |
ProgressBar reports generic progress with a repeating pattern. |
Valid |
ValidationStates |
The control uses the Validation class and the Validation.HasError attached property is false. |
InvalidFocused |
ValidationStates |
The Validation.HasError attached property is true has the control has focus. |
InvalidUnfocused |
ValidationStates |
The Validation.HasError attached property is true has the control does not have focus. |
ProgressBar ControlTemplate Example
The following example shows how to define a ControlTemplate for the ProgressBar control.
<Style x:Key="{x:Type ProgressBar}"
TargetType="{x:Type ProgressBar}">
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type ProgressBar}">
<Grid MinHeight="14"
MinWidth="200"
Background="{TemplateBinding Background}">
<VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups>
<VisualStateGroup x:Name="CommonStates">
<VisualState x:Name="Determinate" />
<VisualState x:Name="Indeterminate">
<Storyboard>
<ObjectAnimationUsingKeyFrames Duration="00:00:00"
Storyboard.TargetName="PART_Indicator"
Storyboard.TargetProperty="Background">
<DiscreteObjectKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00">
<DiscreteObjectKeyFrame.Value>
<SolidColorBrush>Transparent</SolidColorBrush>
</DiscreteObjectKeyFrame.Value>
</DiscreteObjectKeyFrame>
</ObjectAnimationUsingKeyFrames>
</Storyboard>
</VisualState>
</VisualStateGroup>
</VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups>
<Border x:Name="PART_Track"
CornerRadius="2"
BorderThickness="1">
<Border.BorderBrush>
<SolidColorBrush Color="{DynamicResource BorderMediumColor}" />
</Border.BorderBrush>

<Border x:Name="PART_Indicator"
