Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional or Microsoft Visual Studio 2012.
- Express editions of Microsoft Visual Studio are not supported.
Microsoft Silverlight 4
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 includes the Silverlight 4 Tools for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 in addition to additional updates to Visual Studio.
If you already have Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 installed, you can install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1.
If for some reason you cannot install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1, you can install the Silverlight 4 Tools for Visual Studio 2010 separately.
Windows Identity Foundation
Windows Identity Foundation is required when developing managed code applications for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.
For information on installing or enabling Windows Identity Foundation, see Install Windows Identity Foundation (WIF) 3.5.
Uninstall any previous Beta versions
If you have installed a Beta version of the Developer Toolkit, see Uninstall the Developer Toolkit.
Remove any previous CTP versions
If you have installed any previous Community Technology Preview (CTP) versions of the Developer Toolkit, you must follow these steps:
In Visual Studio, select the Tools menu and select Extension Manager. Locate the Dynamics CRM 2013 Developer Tools extension and uninstall it.
Delete the following files:
<Program files folder>\MSBuild\Microsoft\CRM\
Microsoft.CrmDeveloperTools.CrmClient.dll
Microsoft.CrmDeveloperTools.CrmClient.targets
<Visual Studio Installation folder>\Xml\Schemas\RegisterSchema.xsd
Install the Developer Toolkit
To install the Developer Toolkit, follow these steps:
Verify that your computer has all prerequisite software installed. For more information, see Prerequisites.
Important
The Installer does not verify that the prerequisites have been installed or prompt you to install them. If you do not install the prerequisites a failure will occur later.
For Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, run the CrmDeveloperTools_Installer.msi located in the SDK package at SDK\Tools\DeveloperToolkit. Download the Microsoft Dynamics CRM SDK package.
For Microsoft Visual Studio 2012, run the CrmDeveloperToolsVS12_Installer.msi located in the same folder.
Click Next when you are prompted and Close when the installation is finished.
Uninstall the Developer Toolkit
To uninstall the Developer Toolkit, follow these steps:
In Control Panel, in the Programs group, select Uninstall a program.
Locate the CRM Developer Toolkit and select Uninstall from the menu bar.
Note
The Dynamics CRM 2013 Developer Tools Visual Studio extension will be displayed in the Visual Studio Extensions Manager, but the Disable and Uninstall buttons will be disabled. You must use Windows Add or Remove Programs to remove the Visual Studio extension.
