KnowledgeArticle entity messages and methods

The knowledge article entity represents the organizational knowledge for internal and external use.

The schema name for this entity is KnowledgeArticle. To view the entity metadata for your organization, install the Metadata Browser solution described in Browse the metadata for your organization. You can also view the metadata for an uncustomized organization in the Excel file called EntityMetadata.xlsx included in the top-level folder of the SDK download.

The following table describes the messages for this entity, which you use with the IOrganizationService.Execute method.

AssignRequest

Assigns a knowledge article instance to another user or team.

CreateRequest

Creates a knowledge article instance. You can also call the IOrganizationService.Create method.

CreateKnowledgeArticleTranslationRequest

Creates a knowledge article translation. More information: Create a knowledge article translation

CreateKnowledgeArticleVersionRequest

Creates a major or minor version of a knowledge article instance. More information: Work with knowledge articles in Dynamics 365

DeleteRequest

Deletes a knowledge article instance. You can also call the IOrganizationService.Delete method.

FullTextSearchKnowledgeArticleRequest

Searches for knowledge articles that contain the specified body text. More information: Search knowledge articles using full-text search

GrantAccessRequest

Shares a knowledge article instance with another security principal (user or team).

ModifyAccessRequest

Changes the access rights for a knowledge article instance previously shared with another security principal (user or team).

RetrieveRequest

Retrieves a knowledge article instance. You can also call the IOrganizationService.Retrieve method.

RetrieveMultipleRequest

Retrieves a collection of knowledge articles. You can also call the IOrganizationService.RetrieveMultiple method.

RetrievePrincipalAccessRequest

Retrieves the access rights the specified security principal (user or team) has to a knowledge article instance.

RetrieveSharedPrincipalsAndAccessRequest

Retrieves the security principals (users or teams) that have access to a contract, together with their access rights to the knowledge article instance.

RevokeAccessRequest

Removes all access to a knowledge article instance for the specified security principal (user or team).

SetStateRequest

Sets the state of a knowledge article instance. For early bound types, use the KnowledgeArticleState enumeration to set the possible states.

UpdateRequest

Updates a knowledge article instance. You can also call the IOrganizationService.Update method.
