How to: Resolve Issues with a Missing Processed Folder
If Help Builder does not automatically create the Processed folder or does not create a .chm file in the Processed folder, then examine the following possible causes to troubleshoot the issues.
To troubleshoot why the Processed folder is not created
Ensure that the updateSourceMode element in the config.xml file is set to None.
Ensure that Help Builder has write permissions on the computer. For example, if User Account Control is turned on in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, then you cannot create new folders in the C:\Program Files folder.
Ensure that the Processed folder or any files from the Processed folder are not being used by other active programs.
