Item Journal Window

Specifies how you want to adjust inventory in connection with purchases, sales, and positive or negative adjustments.

The information you enter in the item journal is temporary and can be changed as long as it is still in the journal. When you post the journal, the information is transferred to entries on individual accounts.

If you often use the item journal to post the same or similar journal lines, for example, in connection with material consumption, you can use the Standard Item Journal to make this recurring work easier.

The Recalculate Unit Amount button is used when the item journal lines have been inserted from a standard item journal and you want to overwrite the inserted unit amounts with the latest item card values.

Note

You cannot manually enter item journal lines for locations that use directed put-away and pick. You must instead use the warehouse item journal and then later use the Calculate Whse. Adjustment function in the item journal to post the change to the inventory item ledger.

Tip

For more information on how to navigate in the user interface, see Work with Microsoft Dynamics NAV. For assistance in finding specific pages, see Search.
