Use Legacy G/L Entry Locking Field, General Ledger Setup Table

Specifies when the G/L Entry table should be locked during sales, purchase and service posting.

By default, the check box is cleared to leave the G/L Entry table unlocked at the start of posting. The table remains unlocked until a lock is needed. This can improve performance in multiuser environments.

Select the check box to lock the G/L Entry table at the start of posting. Consider this option if:

• You encounter deadlock situations, which can occur if your solution relies on G/L Entry table locking.

• You have selected the check box in the Automatic Cost Posting field in the Inventory Setup window.

Selecting the check box can cause longer response time during posting of

• Sales documents.

• Purchase documents.

• Service documents.

• General journal batches.

• Other processes that post to the general ledger.
