How to: Create and Post Job Sales Credit Memos

When a credit is due to a customer, you can create a credit memo for something that has been previously invoiced on a job.

To create and post a job sales credit memo

  1. In the Search box, enter Jobs, and then choose the related link.

  2. Select the job that you want. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Job Task Lines.

  3. Select the task that you will make a credit memo for. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Job Planning Lines. The Job Planning Lines window opens.

  4. Select the relevant planning lines that you will credit. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Create Sales Credit Memo to open the Job Transfer to Credit Memo batch job request window.

  5. On the Options FastTab fill in the relevant fields. For help about a specific field, see the Help for the batch job. For more information, see Job Transfer to Credit Memo.

  6. Choose the OK button to create the credit memo. To view an unposted credit memo, select any of the planning lines that are transferred and on the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Sales Invoices/Credit Memos in the Job Planning Lines window.

  7. Post the credit memo.

  8. To view the posted credit memo, select any of the planning lines that are invoiced and on the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Sales Invoices/Credit Memos. Select the memo, and in the Process group, choose Open Sales Invoice/Credit Memo.
