Bin Code Field, Assembly Line Table
Specifies the code of the bin where assembly components must be placed prior to assembly and from where they are posted as consumed.
Additional Information
You can set up the location with a standard bin structure to manage the flow of assembly components. For more information, see the To-Assembly Bin Code field on the location card.
The Bin Code field on assembly order lines specifies where assembly components are placed with inventory movements or warehouse picks. For more information, see How to: Move Components to an Operation Area in Basic Warehousing and How to: Pick for Internal Operations in Advanced Warehousing respectively.
The Bin Code field on assembly order headers, on the Posting FastTab, specifies where the finished assembly item must be taken from and from where the output is posted.
Note
On assembly order lines, the bin must be of bin type code PUTAWAY or no bin type code. This ensures that other warehouse activities, such as picking, shipping, or receiving do not accidentally take or place items in the assembly area. On assembly order headers, on the Posting FastTab, the bin cannot be of bin type SHIP and bin type RECEIVE. This makes sure that production output is not accidentally placed in the shipment area or receipt area.
