This section describes how to manage a FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint backup indexer configuration.
Note
You can also perform regular full data backup to ensure high availability for the content index.

Follow the steps in Remove servers from the farm deployment, where you modify the following element in the deployment configuration file (deployment.xml):
searchcluster: Remove the row element for the search row.
Remove the host element for each server in the search row.
