Description
Turns alerts on or off. By default, alerts are enabled.
Syntax
stsadm -o setproperty
-propertyname alerts-enabled
-propertyvalue {True| False}
**\[-url\]** *\<URL\>*
The syntax for the getproperty operation is:
stsadm -o getproperty
propertyname alerts-enabled
**\[-url\]** *\<URL\>*
Note
You can substitute -pn for -propertyname and -pv for -propertyvalue.
Values
The following table shows possible values.

Gets or sets the name of the property. |

True: Enables alerts for the site collection. This is the default setting. False: Disables alerts for the site collection. |

Typically, a path to the URL of the Web application, in the form http://server_name. |
Examples
To disable alerts, use the following syntax:
stsadm -o setproperty -url https://server_name -pn alerts-enabled -pv false
To view the setting for the alerts-enabled property, use the following syntax:
stsadm -o getproperty -url https://server_name -pn alerts-enabled
