BackupRestoreBase.NoRewind Property

Gets or sets a Boolean property value that determines whether Microsoft SQL Server will keep the tape open after the backup or restore operation.

Namespace: Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo
Assembly: Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo (in microsoft.sqlserver.smo.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public Property NoRewind As Boolean
public bool NoRewind { get; set; }
public:
property bool NoRewind {
    bool get ();
    void set (bool value);
}
/** @property */
public boolean get_NoRewind ()

/** @property */
public void set_NoRewind (boolean value)
public function get NoRewind () : boolean

public function set NoRewind (value : boolean)

Property Value

A Boolean value that specifies whether the tape is rewound at the end of the operation or not. If True, the tape drive is open and positioned. If False (default), the tape is rewound

Remarks

When NoRewind property is set to TRUE, SQL Server will keep a tape drive open and positioned, thereby preventing the overhead of rewinding and scanning a tape. This is useful in situations where a tape is repeatedly used.

This namespace, class, or member is supported only in version 2.0 of the Microsoft .NET Framework.
