Connecting Smart Devices to Development Computers
The topics in this section discuss how to establish a secure and reliable connection between the development computer and the target device (whether the device is real or the emulator). Visual Studio uses the connection to deploy files and debug applications on a device or emulator.

Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) replaces ActiveSync in Windows Vista. Windows Vista users must install WMDC instead of ActiveSync.
