Assert.IsInstanceOfType Method (Object, Type, String)
Verifies that the specified object is an instance of the specified type. The assertion fails if the type is not found in the inheritance hierarchy of the object. Displays a message if the assertion fails.

Parameters
- value
Type: System.Object
The object to verify is of expectedType.
- expectedType
Type: System.Type
The type expected to be found in the inheritance hierarchy of value.
- message
Type: System.String
A message to display if the assertion fails. This message can be seen in the unit test results.
Exceptions
Exception | Condition |

AssertFailedException | value is nulla null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) or expectedType is not found in the inheritance hierarchy of value. |
