Downloads an extension.

Parameters

• extensionDetails
  Type: Microsoft.VisualStudio.ExtensionManager.IRepositoryEntry

  The IRepositoryEntry that corresponds to the extension to be downloaded.

Return Value

Type: Microsoft.VisualStudio.ExtensionManager.IInstallableExtension
An IInstallableExtension that contains metadata for the downloaded extension.

Remarks

Although this API supports the Extension Manager infrastructure, we recommend that you do not use it because it is subject to change.
