The Visual Studio SDK provides support for using fonts and colors to display text.

IVsFontAndColorDefaultsProvider
Provides an instance of the IVsFontAndColorDefaults
or the IVsFontAndColorGroup interface that corresponds to a particular item listed in the Show Settings For list in the Fonts and Colors page of the Options dialog box.
