System Data Sink Plug-ins
A data sink plug-in sends packets of digital content to a multicast, unicast, archive, or other destination. The Windows Media Services user interface calls this type of plug-in a data writer instead of a data sink. The server includes the following plug-ins.

WMS Multicast Data Writer |
Enables a Windows Media server to deliver content over a multicast-enabled network. This plug-in is available only on Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition; Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition; Windows Server 2008 Enterprise; and Windows Server 2008 Datacenter. WMS Unicast Data Writer |
