System Bus (Windows CE 5.0)

Send Feedback

In combination, the system bus and the drivers that interact with it can worsen real-time performance by delaying other events or locking the bus for extended periods. To minimize the impact, examine how the drivers on your hardware platform affect real-time processing. For example, on a CEPC, testing has shown that display drivers and network drivers can worsen real-time performance because the CEPC runs on a standard PC bus instead of a memory-based hardware platform.

To improve real-time performance, use nonhardware-optimized display drivers, such as 8PP and Flat that do not worsen real-time performance. Avoid using hardware-optimized display drivers, such as the S3 Virge and ATI that worsen real-time performance because they can lock the bus for extended periods.
