You can configure many TCP/IP settings through the registry. For information about registry settings, see the following topics.
- IPv4 and IPv6 Configurable Registry Settings
Describes settings configurable through the registry when the OS is running.
- IPv4 and IPv6 Non-Configurable Registry Settings
Describes setting configurable in Platform Builder that build with the OS. These setting are read only when the OS is running.
You can also use the utilities described in the Network Command-Line Tools Reference to display and configure TCP/IP network values. For information about these utilities, see the following topics.
- IPConfig
Command-line utility that displays all current TCP/IP network configuration values and updates Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System (DNS) settings.
- Netstat
Command-line utility that displays active TCP/IP connections, ports on which the computer is listening, Ethernet statistics, the IP routing table, IPv4 statistics (for the IPv4, ICMP, TCP, and UDP protocols), and IPv6 statistics (for the IPv6, ICMPv6, TCP over IPv6, and UDP over IPv6 protocols).
- Ping
Command-line utility that verifies IP-level connectivity to another TCP/IP computer by sending Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) echo request messages.
- Route
Command-line utility that displays network modifies network routing tables.
- Tracert
Command-line utility to display or modify network routing tables.
- IPv6
Command-line utilities for IPv6 queries and configuration of network interfaces, addresses, caches, and routes.
For general information about IPv4 and IPv6 protocols and procedures, see the following topics on MSDN.
