Downloading the Boot Loader to the STMicroelectronics STi7109 MB442 Development Platform (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

The OEM manufacturer preinstalls the default Windows Embedded CE boot loader on the STMicroelectronics STi7109 MB442 development platform. If the boot loader becomes corrupted, contact the OEM manufacturer for instructions on how to restore the default boot loader.

To update the Windows Embedded CE boot loader, you can download the updates to the STMicroelectronics Sti7109 MB442 development platform by using Platform Builder.

Note

Be sure that you download the latest version of the Windows Embedded CE boot loader to the development platform before you download the run-time image to the device. To check the boot loader version, see line 2 of the boot loader output. To download the boot loader to the STMicroelectronics STi7109 MB442 development platform flash memory

  1. Reset the STMicroelectronics STi7109 MB442 development platform.

  2. Boot your device to the default boot loader.

  3. In Platform Builder, on the File menu, select the updated boot image, and then attach it to the STMicroelectronics STi7109 MB442 development platform device.

  4. After you download the boot loader image, reset the STMicroelectronics STi7109 MB442 development platform and then verify that you have successfully downloaded the Windows Embedded CE boot loader.

    Note the device name in the Windows Embedded CE boot loader output. This is useful when you verify that Platform Builder is connecting to the correct device.
