The priority level of a queue specifies a single base priority for all messages sent to a public queue.

By default, the priority level of a queue is 0.

To change the priority level of a queue

  1. Declare an MSMQQueueInfo object.
  2. Call MSMQQueueInfo.Refresh to retrieve the existing properties of the queue.
  3. Set MSMQQueueInfo.BasePriority to the new priority level.
  4. Call MSMQQueueInfo.Update to change the priority level of the queue.
