Wireless Network Adapter Support (Windows CE 5.0)
Windows CE supports automatic configuration of network adapters to eliminate user interaction and improve the roaming experience. In Windows CE, a network adapter can automatically associate with an available network or with an AP.
To support 802.11 functionality, the wireless network adapter and its Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) miniport driver need to support a set of NDIS Object Identifiers (OIDs). These OIDs are used to query and configure device and driver behavior. The wireless network adapter scans for available wireless networks and passes the SSID information to the device.
For more information about Windows CE support for wireless network adapters, see Network Adapter Card Requirements and 802.1x Object Identifiers.
