CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test (Windows CE 5.0)
The CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test tests the functionality of CD/DVD-ROM drivers and verifies the integrity of data read from any CD-ROM or digital video disc (DVD). This test reads raw data from any CD or DVD and compares the data to data in an image file located on your development workstation. The CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test also assesses functionality of the CD/DVD ROM drive, for example whether the drive correctly loads and ejects media.
The following table shows the hardware requirements for the CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test.
Requirements | Description |
---|---|
CD/DVD-ROM drive | A CD-ROM drive or CD/DVD-ROM drive. |
CD/DVD image located on the development workstation | A complete image of the CD or DVD media used for testing. The image is stored on the development workstation in a file named Cdsector.dat. To create a Cdsector.dat file for media in the CD-ROM drive or CD/DVD-ROM drive, run test case 6101. |
The following table shows the software requirements for the CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test.

---|---|
Tux.exe | Tux test harness, which is required for executing the test. |
Kato.dll | Kato logging engine, which is required for logging test data. |
Tooltalk.dll | Application required by Tux.exe and Kato.dll. Handles the transport between the target device and the development workstation. |
Cdromtest.dll | Test .dll file. |
To run the CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test on a run-time image, you must include a CD/DVD-ROM block driver in the OS design.
Note When you run the CD/DVD-ROM Block Driver Test, the CETK temporarily copies files to the root directory of the target device. Before running the test, verify that there is at least 0.5 megabytes (MB) of free space in the root directory of the target device. If there is not sufficient space in the root directory of the target device, the test cannot run.
