Core Connectivity (Windows CE 5.0)
Windows CE supports a unified communications infrastructure called Core Connectivity that enables full-featured connectivity for downloading and debugging. The Core Connectivity infrastructure offers a full range of connectivity support, including:
- Flashing a run-time image on a target device
- Downloading an application or a collection of files to a target device
- Launching an application on the target device
- Connectivity streams between a target device and a desktop workstation that can be used by any application, such as Remote Tools and Visual Studio
- Kernel-level connectivity streams between a target device and a desktop workstation that can be used by applications such as Platform Builder
- Custom services that support the needs of varied OEMs
