Flags Element (Instruction Response)

This element exists within the Package element, and is a 32 bit mask used to encode network connection related constraints, in particular, the connection bandwidth.

Remarks

The following table describes the different values for Flags element. The value for this element must be formatted as xx xx xx xx.

Flags value Description
01 00 00 00 Low Bandwidth (<128 Kbps) connection
02 00 00 00 High Bandwidth (>128 Kbps) connection.
04 00 00 00 Cradled only (Desktop Passthrough with ActiveSync enabled).

An OR operation can be performed on the flags to create the required control. The following table shows the currently supported OR scenarios.

Flags value Description
03 00 00 00 High or Low Bandwidth connection.
06 00 00 00 High or Desktop Passthrough.
