File Server Registry Settings
The configuration settings for the File Server feature are stored in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\Smbserver registry key.
Windows CE enables you to create virtual file server directories. Virtual directories appear to users who access your file server share as subdirectories of the file server share, although these directories may be located in a different folder.
You can create a virtual root directory called "SampleVirtualRoot" by specifying the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\SMBServer\Shares\SampleVirtualRoot.
The following table shows the named values for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\Smbserver key.
Value : type | Description |
---|---|
Type : REG_DWORD | Setting this value to 1 designates this as a print server share, setting this value to 0 (zero) designates this as a file server share. |
Path : REG_SZ | Specifies the path to be shared out.
Note It is not recommended that you share out the \Windows or root directory. |
UserList : REG_SZ | Specifies a comma-separated list of allowed users. |
