Setting or Clearing an Environment Variable

After you create a workspace or open an existing workspace in the Platform Builder IDE, you can use the IDE to set or clear an environment variable for the workspace. For information on values that you can set, see Environment Variables.

Any change to the Windows CE OS that results from setting or clearing the environment variable occurs after you build the platform.

To set an environment variable

  1. From the Platform menu, choose Settings.
  2. Choose the Environment tab.
  3. Choose New.
  4. In the Variable Name box, type the name of the environment variable.
  5. In the Variable Value box, type a value.
  6. To save your changes, choose OK.

To clear an environment variable

  1. From the Platform menu, choose Settings.
  2. Choose the Environment tab.
  3. Choose New.
  4. In the Variable Name box, type the name of the environment variable.
  5. In the Variable Value box, type 0.
  6. To save your changes, choose OK.
