You can add a command to the Tools menu.

To add a command to the Tools menu

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Customize and then choose the Tools tab.

  2. In the Menu contents box, scroll to the bottom of the list.

  3. Double-click the blank line as indicated by an empty rectangle.

  4. Type the name of the tool as you want it to appear on the Tools menu; then press ENTER.

    For example, to add a command for Notepad, type Notepad.

  5. In the Command box, enter the path and name of the tool; for example, Notepad.

  6. Enter any arguments to be passed to the application in the Arguments box.

    – or –

    Choose the arrow next to the Arguments box to display a list of macros.

  7. Type the file directory for the tool in the Initial Directory box.

    – or –

    Choose the arrow next to the Initial Directory box to display a list of macros.

  8. Choose Close.

  9. Choose the tool from the Tools menu to run it.

If the application that you are adding to the Tools menu has a program information (.pif) file, the startup directory specified by the .pif file overrides the directory that you specify in the Initial Directory box.
