SQL Server 2000 Installation

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is the preferred database engine for sharing a component database and repositories in a team environment. The system administrator needs to select the appropriate version of SQL Server 2000 and license for the requirements.

For SQL Server 2000 licensing information, refer to the end-user license agreement (EULA) that accompanied the SQL Server 2000 product.

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is available in various editions, each with its own requirements that are tailored to different work models. The component database works on any edition. Choose the edition you want based on your requirements.

SQL Server 2000 provides an extensive installation application that you use to install and configure the database engine. SQL Server 2000 is not included on the Windows XP Embedded installation media. For information about installing SQL Server 2000, see the SQL Server 2000 documentation.
