getControl method

Obsolete. Retrieves IUnknown control.

Syntax

HRESULT retVal = object.getControl(control);

Parameters

  • control
    Type: IUnknown

    IUnknown control desired.

Return value

Type: HRESULT

If this method succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.

Remarks

This method is only relevant for people who are writing a custom player for HTML+TIME (Timed Interactive Multimedia Extensions).

Custom media players for HTML+TIME are no longer supported as of Windows Internet Explorer 7.
