Unauthorize a DHCP server in Active Directory

To unauthorize a DHCP server in Active Directory

  1. Open DHCP.

  2. In the console tree, click DHCP.

  3. On the Action menu, click Manage authorized servers.

    The Manage Authorized Servers dialog box appears.

  4. In Authorized DHCP servers, select the server you want to unauthorize.

  5. Click Unauthorize.

Notes

  • To open DHCP, click Start, click Settings, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click DHCP.

  • Removing authorization for a DHCP server from the directory causes that server to stop responding to client requests.

  • If the server you unauthorize is the only DHCP server, clients will be unable to obtain IP address leases through DHCP.
