Link a WMI filter to a Group Policy object

To link a WMI filter to a Group Policy object
Open Group Policy Management.
In the console tree, double-click Group Policy Objects in the forest and domain containing the Group Policy object (GPO) to which you want to link a WMI filter.
Where?
Forest name/Domains/Domain name/Group Policy Objects
Click the GPO.
In the results pane, on the Scope tab, under WMI Filtering, select a WMI filter from the drop-down list box.
When prompted to confirm the selection, click Yes.

You can also link a WMI filter to a GPO using one of the following methods:
In the console tree, find the WMI filter you want to link to a GPO.

Forest name/Domains/Domain name/WMI Filters/WMI filter name
Do one of the following:
Click the WMI filter.
In the details pane, on the General tab, under GPOs that use this WMI filter, right-click, and then click Add.
Under Group Policy objects, click the GPO for which you want to link the WMI filter, and then click OK.

In the console tree, drag and drop the WMI filter to the GPO you want to link it to.
To link a WMI filter to a GPO, you must have Edit permissions on a GPO.
Only one WMI filter can be linked to a GPO. If you try to link a WMI filter to a GPO that already has another WMI filter linked to it, you will be asked whether you want to replace the old filter with the new one.
You can only link a WMI filter to a GPO in the same domain.
WMI Filters (as well as WMI Filtering on the Scope tab for GPOs) is only available if at least one domain controller in the domain is running Windows Server 2003.
