Checklist: Validating your clustering system

Step Reference

One by one, take each resource group offline then bring it back online.

Note

  • The default Cluster Group (containing the quorum resource) will not go offline.

Take a group offline

Bring a group online

Test that resources can fail over by moving resource groups from one node to another.

Test whether group resources can fail over

Test the failover policies for the resource groups.

Test group failover policy

Test that the cluster can recover from node failures.

Test node failure

Test that the cluster can recover from private network failures.

Test private network failures

Review your system logs for any server cluster errors recorded by the Cluster service.

In Event Viewer, server cluster errors logged by the Cluster service show up under the Source column as "ClusSvc".
