Event ID 16391 — Job Database Integrity

BITS stores the job database on disk. BITS reads the database during service startup and writes updates to disk periodically. If the database is corrupted, BITS will discard it and create an empty one.

Resolve
No action is necessary: BITS will automatically recreate the state files
No action is necessary to resolve this issue, because BITS automatically deletes and recreates the corrupted state files. If you encounter this issue frequently, however, check the hard disk for corruption or failing hardware.
Verify
- From an elevated command prompt, type bitsadmin /list /allusers
- Ensure that the command completes successfully.
- Additionally, verify that qmgr0.dat and qmgr1.dat exist in the %allusersprofile%\Microsoft\Network\Downloader folder.
