Customize Object Properties Pages in Active Directory Administrative Center

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012

You can use properties pages in Active Directory Administrative Center to modify your Active Directory objects. The following illustration shows the graphical user interface (GUI) that is described in this topic.

You can use the following procedure to view and customize any object properties page in Active Directory Administrative Center.

There is no minimum group membership required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

To customize an object property page in Active Directory Administrative Center

  1. To open Active Directory Administrative Center in Windows Server 2012, in Server Manager, click Tools, and then click Active Directory Administrative Center.

    To open Active Directory Administrative Center in Windows Server 2008 R2, click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Administrative Center.

Another way to open Active Directory Administrative Center in Windows Server 2008 R2 is to click Start, click Run, and then type dsac.exe.

  1. Right-click the object whose properties page you want to view, and then click Properties.

  2. To customize the object properties page, click Add Sections, and then select sections to display in the properties page, or clear a selected section so that it does not appear in the properties page.

Note

To close, collapse, or expand various object properties page sections, click the Collapse/Expand or Close icons in each section. To view or hide a preview pane in an object properties window, click the Collapse/Expand icon at the bottom of the object properties window.
