Saves Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) configuration settings to an XML file.

The UDDI configuration tool, Uddiconfig.exe, is a command-line tool that saves configuration settings from UDDI Services components to an XML file or takes configuration settings from an XML file and applies them to UDDI Services components. You can use the UDDI configuration tool to back up your configuration settings after you install or make changes to UDDI Services. If necessary, you can restore the last known good configuration settings that you saved in the XML file by using the UDDI configuration tool.

You can use this tool to adjust any of the configuration settings that the UDDI Services Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in exposes. When you apply configuration settings, all the settings that are stored in the configuration file are applied to the corresponding UDDI Services components on the target computer. When you save the settings, all the configuration settings from all the UDDI Services components on the target computer are written to the output file.

UDDI is an industry specification for publishing and locating information about Web services. It defines an information framework that you can use to describe and classify your organization, its services, and the technical details about the interfaces of the Web services that you expose. This information framework provides consistent discovery of services or interfaces of a particular type, classification, or function. UDDI also defines a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) that applications and services can use to interact directly with UDDI data. For example, you can develop services that automatically publish and update their UDDI data, react dynamically to service availability, or automatically discover interface details for other services with which they interact.

To use Uddiconfig.exe, you must run the uddiconfig command from an elevated command prompt. To open an elevated command prompt, click Start, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Membership in Administrators, or equivalent, on the target computer is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

Syntax

uddiconfig.exe /o[<drive>:][<path>]<FileName> | /f[<drive>:][<path>]<FileName>[/s <ComputerName>][/u <UserName> /p <Password>]

Parameters

/o [<drive>:][<path>] <FileName>

Saves settings from the UDDI Services components on the target computer to a file that is specified by FileName.

/f [<drive>:][<path>] <FileName>

Applies configuration settings from a file that is specified by FileName to the UDDI Services components on a target computer.

/s <ComputerName>

The NETBIOS name of the remote computer that hosts the UDDI Services components.

/u <UserName>

Specifies the user name to use on the remote computer that is specified by ComputerName. UserName should be in the form USER@DOMAIN or DOMAIN\USER.

/p <Password>

Specifies the password for UserName.

To capture configuration settings from UDDI Services components that are operating on a remote computer named UDDISVCS using Administrator credentials and to save them to a file C:\config.xml, at the command line, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

uddiconfig /s UDDISVCS /u Administrator /p lsA93j%g /o c:\config.xml

To apply configuration settings from file C:\Config.xml to UDDI Services components that are operating on the local computer using the current user's credentials, at the command line, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

uddiconfig /f c:\config.xml
