TextBox.OnGotFocus Method
Microsoft Silverlight will reach end of support after October 2021. Learn more.
Called before GotFocus event occurs.
Namespace: System.Windows.Controls
Assembly: System.Windows (in System.Windows.dll)
Syntax
'Declaration
Protected Overrides Sub OnGotFocus ( _
e As RoutedEventArgs _
)
protected override void OnGotFocus(
RoutedEventArgs e
)
Parameters
- e
Type: System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs
The data for the event.
Remarks
The OnGotFocus method is called before any event handler for the GotFocus event is called. This method allows derived classes to handle the GotFocus event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
By default, when the TextBox control has lost focus, the text in the TextBox is not selected and the cursor does not appear.
Notes to Inheritors
When overriding OnGotFocus method in a derived class, be sure to call the base class’s OnGotFocus method so that registered delegates receive the event.
